The Wirral & District Koi Society was formed for members to enjoy keeping Koi in a club atmosphere.
It all began in March 1983 with only a handful of members who had limited experience, knowledge and equipment.
From such humble beginnings we made slow but steady progress and we now have a membership of fifty four families.
What we do

We hold our meetings on the third Thursday of every month here at the Port Sunlight Village Social Club, (formerley the Mens club) Bridge Street, Port Sunlight at 7:30 pm. for 8 pm
If you are thinking of building a Koi pond you may need advice on Size, depth, filter system etc. If you ever experience problems with fish health, we have a health advisor who is able to help all members. Giving advice is only a small part of what we do, we also have a very active social section. We arrange coach outings to specialist Koi dealers, Koi shows at local, national, and international venues and we also visit other Koi clubs and societies garden ponds. We also have emergency equipment available for loan including Vats, Nets, Circulating pumps, water meter and carbon filter with purifier etc. All are readily available when the need arises. We even have a well-stocked loan video and book library. You can even expect a monthly newsletter to your door informing you of the next meeting events, with long term what's on Diary of events.

Monthly meetings mainly include

Library facilities

Guest speakers

Quiz nights

Competitions

Raffles

Videos & Books

to discuss all aspects of the hobby

these normally end up in chaos

such as Koi appreciation and photographic etc.

for good quality Koi food and other hobbyist related items

Other social activities include BBQ's and visits to other non-hobbyist venues such as Flower shows etc.
Koi keeping is an absorbing hobby and there is no greater joy than sitting by the side of your own pond on a warm summer evening hand feeding your happy, contented and friendly fish.
